A Heart of Gratitude

For most of this year, I’ve been talking about shoring up your mind. The importance of having a success mindset. That where you want to go in life starts in your mind. That if you can clearly see and believe it, in your mind, you will have.

Well, the next step in this process is faith and gratitude. We’ll delve deeper into faith next month; however, I will give you this teaser. “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” ~ Hebrews 11:1

How do you build hope for something you haven’t received yet? Where do you start? You start with gratitude and thanksgiving.

I was recently reminded of the power of gratitude with this scenario. Imagine that all you have tomorrow is based solely on what you thanked today. Meaning whatever you express gratitude for today is all you will have tomorrow.

All of a sudden, I had a lot to be grateful for. Even the people who were annoying to me a moment ago became amazing gifts. And as crazy as our country has been, I was still grateful that I lived in this time and space. Why, because it allows me the freedom to live a life that so many can only dream of (or in some instances, can’t even fathom).

So, if your tomorrow was dependent on what you expressed gratitude for today, what would you be grateful for? My challenge to you is to start and/or end the day with three things that you are grateful for. Be explicit as if your tomorrow depends on it. And do this for all of June.

Then let me know how your perspective and life changes. And I’ll let you know how my perspective and life are changing.

I am thankful for…

So, what am I thankful for…?
  1. That I have a personal relationship with the Lord of lords and King of Kings
  2. That I have a close and vibrant relationship with my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews
  3. That I have a community that refuses to let me slip through the cracks and is always there for me
  4. That I’m a business owner
  5. That I am healthy
  6. That I have shalom, peace, and wealth
  7. Because of technology, I’m able to build deep relationships with all of you

Your turn…what are you grateful for today?

Until next time ~
